ooo, first class of the new year. tomorrow! and it only has 17 students! wow. im psyched. im making the rounds of requesting seating charts with furigana (the reading in the phonetic writing) and running the new idea of same seats all year past the teachers. they normally switch seats once a month but for my weekly class they can go back to their old seats for one period. i hope the kids dont mind. they tend to set up their desks with tons of crap since they re there all day. tons of pencils and stuff, food, drinks, blankets, cushions, huge purses and gym bags. mirrors, makeup, fans, toys, phone chargers. yea, well...tough kiddies. i also have class only 3 days a week now so that we dont have to change the whole schedule later for when my "title of ownership" is passed over to the Gen Ed Center. so i have two 4-class days and one 2-class day. thats not bad. but that means imna have to prep pretty well before class days. i wont get to revise a lot after a real stinker. and now i have 4 3rd year classes but they are sort of different subjects so i wont be able to use the same activities with all 4 of them. ono! it could be more interesting, but i might have to tap my team teachers for some actual input and ideas. they generaly give none and i just do what i want. now the subjects are going to have to actually resemble an actual goal. i would actually like it if i had a curriculum, but anyway, the subjects are Oral Communication, Uni entrance listening exam prep, life english, and English 2 which i guess is just supposed to be fun times. well, if it was that easy they would all be fun times right? not like i tried to make the other classes boring. its tough to tell tho, some students said they had enjoyed certain activities and looked forward to my class even tho they resembled uncooperative zombies from my perspective. meh, we ll see.
ive been watching so much SatC that i think my brain is becoming a liquified version of Cosmo magazine. its great!!
