under construction...
MONDAYS: they kind of suck. i have class period 1 AND 2. and i stayed up late reading the stupid DAVINCI CODE. its true. im almost annoyed at how he writes it and MAKES me go on. and what s with the one page chapters.
LILY's VISIT: lily 02 came to visit. turns out she lives less than 2 hrs away by express train. thats way closer than some ppl in tokushima. she s in kagawa-ken. im kind of a bad host so we went in search of naruto park and i got kind of lost, but naruto has a lot of nice views anyway. and its way bigger than i thought. we ended up deep DEEP in naruto where i had only been slightly in to pick up julie. we went way beyond that. on the way back, spontaneously, and also because of hunger, we stopped at a place that did LIVE SUSHI. if you are unfamiliar with this it means the fish is alive when its cut up. we didnt have anything with tentacles that clung the the insides of our cheeks, and i passed on the dancing shrimp (RAW SHRIMP!?) but we did have fish. and the fish was served with the body of the fish as a nice display. only one side was cut for us to eat and the body was like a platter. it was all curled up which means it was alive when it was sliced. yikes! it was really good tho. kind of pricey, but i dont plan on doing that all the time. and i had some whole fried shrimp. they were not as tasty as i recall the ones at jensy's family reunion, but head and shell and all still not bad.
that was SAT and SUN we slept nice and late with MASHI and then we went to lunch at one of itano's restaurants. i havent been to any because its tough to go to a restaurant by yourself AND be a foreigner. one or the other is ok. both is weird. you need another foreigner with you to offset the weirdness.
MASHI: is probably the friendliest cat ever. she took right to lily, who may have been just another lap to her. and during the night, she went between sleeping next to me on the futon to next to lily on the pullout to the foot of the pullout where she takes your footspace in exchange for warming your toes.
we watched the MTV Movie awards from last year and then some of the AMAs. what a nice break from the rest of CTV. just nestled in there with the other tapes. the MTV part was subtitled in french and all the correspondents were french canadian, but that was kind of cool too.
TEX MEX: i may or may not be going to tex mex tonight. ViVi and i rescheduled on account of typhoon, but i forgot until this morning and i dont have her cell, so if she doesnt get back to me, im not going to go. i hope i dont stand her up. i forgot about monday badminton so it wont be bad if i dont go. theres also a BDAY party with the kimono dance group that marita goes to. they have class for foreigners so im thinking about checking that out. but i didnt realize it was the same one that marita goes to. she said the woman is kind of pushy and kind of TOLD her she was doing it. she sounds nice tho. and its free, i think, and you can go whenever, but its on mondays. badminton! im considering coming back from agro school on WEDs to practice on WEDs since THURs is japanese class and i cant go then. well, i could for a bit, but i just didnt want to go crazy since i give someone else a ride so that makes me more responsible.
XMAS: ACK! still not sure what to do. this is the thought process that leaves me at square one.... i kind of want to go home for winter break. o wait, home usually sucks altho friends are cool, and thats a long way to go for some mall action and a few good parties and hang outs. NJ will not suddenly lose all its diners while im in japan. so i agree with MARITA: dont go home til you go home for good. yea! more power! but then i remember that i have this $400 credit from Continental Airlines from when i got voluntarily bumped on the way back from the cruise. i spent some extra time in florida put up at a sweet hotel. that credit expires in April and Continental Airlines means probably to and from the US, tho i havent checked yet. so i dont want to "waste" the 400. follow? that makes a good dent in the airfare home. but still, do i want to go home? DAMN. there you go, back to square one. i dont have any wild aspirations to visit the motherland of KOREA, nor am i ecstatic about CHINA or THAILAND or SINGAPORE or any where really. theres lots of stuff in JAPAN too, but its as expensive to travel in japan as it is to go to other parts of asia really. i hate not knowing the language too.

Well, we'll miss your sorry ass if you don't come back home, but we'll live....nothing much cahnges in Roosevelt, as you already know...........may as well experience everything you can while you're over there (that's just me being jealous, ya know!) Robin
OK, one day I'll remember to be sure I spelled everything correctly before I hit the submit button! LOL P.S. Your address, I need it, I have a package ready!
Go to Hawaii. That's where all the nihonjin go. And you can probably take Continental. And it's probably "semi"-affordable.
I mean, really just come home. But if we're tossing around options...
