It Pays to Look Nice. thats what the doorman at the "secret" bar we went to said. haha. BOOST. we showed up after 12 when the bar was already full and the bouncers told us, they couldnt guarantee getting in because their place was so cool and hot etc. then one second later, he told us to "follow that gentleman right there" and when we passed he said it pays to look nice. HA. the bar was really cool. you go into an unmarked door and then thru a small wet alley then up some steps to an actual speakeasy. peep hole and all. the drinks were served in tea cups. how cute. i felt interesting so i ordered a diry martini. the bartender didnt know what that was. hmm. i might be cool enough for this town after all. i wonder what percentage of ppl i encounter are as new or newer and more clueless than me. prolly more than i think. just look like you know what you re doin. that barkeep probably checked his guide to bartending once he got home that night. haha.
accomplishments today: laundry, met up with frank, macaroon, scouted out gyms in the area, made jambalaya. i m spent. now im back to reading stuff about how to find a job. my heart just isnt in it. but i want money and want to live right? right right. of course.

dim sum is super tasty. a little too tasty. i bordered on tummy ache today. i ate lots of assorted dumplings then had pat bin su, the korean shaved ice with ice cream, mochi, red bean and fruit. too yummy! deadly delicious. when was the last time you had a tummy ache as an adult? i think its sad. i need a life coach and someone to give me homework. and poke me with a stick. meh.
diannes sis, mandy, visited and usman did too. fun times. sharn has moved in so now we are completely in place for the next year. i need to overhaul a lot of things tho. my room, my wardrobe, my organization methods, my budget, myself. i bought a little jacket today to get the party started tho. charge it!

Brooklyn
it's been a while. somehow xanga has changed on my puter. i live in brooklyn now. mashi is ok, tho the resident cat hates her. i found mashi with a claw sticking out of her nose bridge the day after we thought they could cohabitate. the only evidence of the silent abuse. now they are separated again.
still jobless but im getting there.
my days consist of me sleeping late then checking out the DVR. its fabulous and life ending. this could get boring tho since my friends and roommates have things like jobs that keep them away and busy for the better part of the day.
august was a wash. eating, shopping, going to the gym with some fighting sprinkled in. now im kind of the housekeeper at the apt while i putter around in the late morning.
monday i went home for my stepdads bday then stayed over and bussed back into the City in the morning. then i walked from the Port Authority back home to Brooklyn. it was far. but a good walk. several miles at least. i have a pedometer now and im into it.
thats all for now.
